Love, Peace & Harmony

“Love is of all passions the strongest, for it attacks simultaneously the head, the heart, and the senses!” – Lao Tzu

The above statement could not have been put any more subtly as it has been put for Love, I believe, is the only emotion that seems to surpass and supersede all boundaries and limitations known to mankind.  This is one emotion that will render you physically, mentally, and emotionally handicapped if it fails and boost you to the highest levels of these three spheres if it is successful.  One might question how it is that one who has fallen out of love is ‘heartbroken’ so to speak or one that is in love is on “cloud nine!”  Well these are nothing to directly do with the heart but a chemical reaction in the body that evokes something of a psychosomatic reaction. Having said that the power of love can never be discounted or looked down upon.  A few endearing words, loving looks, sweet nothings, or just a gesture of love can diffuse and transform many a tough scenarios or situations into normalcy.  Where there is love, there seems to dwell a sense of peace and harmony.  The positivism that love can bring to the environment is unfathomable for nobody has been able to quantify the effect of the same in pure science or mathematical terms.  Love can never be easily put into words and it’s the bard or a writer who seems to have strung words such as pearls into a necklace called poetry many a times or into a story of love that evokes emotions in human beings and many a times animals alike.  As the saying by Aristotle goes, “Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies!”  Love of that kind might or might not exist today but when and where it does it brings upon a peace and happiness of a celestial kind that is expressible only by the persons who experience it and never the naysayers.  As Richard Bach so aptly put, “True love stories never have endings!” This is a belief that I strongly am with and so I have decided to be in love…….with life which gives me a chance to be Unfinished until I am really finished!  To give you thoughts to ponder upon, here’s something on Love & Peace!

Where there is love, there is harmony they say
There’s also heartbreak the naysayers would say
They know not the strength of this emotion itself
For they have never thought beyond themselves.

Fear not in love for love has the power to conquer
Everything it encounters for it can help you endure
It spreads a blanket of peace in each nook and corner
Of your heart, mind, body & soul and the world over.

Spite not the person who may fall out of love with you
Maybe it was that they were never meant to be for you
Let them go and forgive yourself for that’ll relieve you
Of the bitterness and hate that might harbor within you.

Spread your love and warmth to brighten everyone’s lives
Be like the dewdrop you see in the morn on green leaves
Aspire to be a seagull and yearn to fly high up in the skies
Where you will be one with the Universe and also the seas.

I leave all of you with a thought to ponder upon that I had read some time ago written by Julia Roberts……”You know it’s love when all you want is that person to be happy, even if you’re not part of their happiness.”  So how about wishing love & peace for the person you love and the ones you do not too!!

  A Theatre Review – Jiss Ne Lahore Nai Dekhiya by Kay S “Let the borders be outside, not inside.” Abhijit Naskar, Author The remnants of humanity and human relationships live on to raise its ugly hood, resonating, and at times transporting us through books, plays, or a movie into a zone of eternal bliss where there is camaraderie, brotherhood and unity that still exists. We as human beings are a flawed race to be frank, and the sooner we accept this fact, the better off we will be and endeavor to at least attain a semblance of being a better version of ourselves.  This thought seemed to echo in my mind, heart, and soul at the highest decibel it ever could as I watched the play, “Jiss Ne Lahore Nai Dekhiya” written by playwright Asghar Wajahat, directed by Zafer Mohiuddin of Kathputliyaan Theatre Group.  I have been so touched deep in my soul by the storyline, the underlying message.  The impeccable performances of the actors who were par excellence carry...
