Women As Agents of Change by Kay S - Author of "Unfinished"

Women As Agents of Change "Woman is a full circle…Within her is the power to create, nurture, and transform." The above quote explains in a very apt manner the capability of a woman who I feel can be the epitome of a perfect agent to bring out a change in any sphere of life.  For centuries, a woman has been the main pillar, albeit an invisible and unrecognized one, behind many success stories that have been an eye opener in this world.  Many of us seem to live abysmally forgetting all those strong women who have naturally been entrepreneurial and the main cause for the birth and success of many entrepreneurs of this world.  It might indeed be a cliché when I say that every mother, grandmother, or great-grandmother in our families have been successful in their own respects.  Women by nature are good at nurturing positive attitudes, fiscal management, problem solving, teamwork, loyalty, commitment, marketing, multitasking, organization of tasks, and enha...

Rendezvous with Arts & Theatre

Rendezvous with Arts & Theatre   “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” - Thomas Merton The above statement could not be more apt and true at a time when there is so much of unrest and dissatisfaction in every sphere of one’s life across the world.   Having said this, I would like to take you through a journey I personally traveled in my life, which might enable you to get an insight on the fact that is stated so aptly above. First and foremost, let me give you a background of who I am, what I do, and what I have come to discover at this moment in my life.   My rendezvous with the fine arts seems to have started literally in my mother’s womb, what with her being a PhD in Hindi literature with degrees in Tamil & English literature.   Even as a child, I was fascinated with the Urdu language which was the language of choice in all Hindi films and especially the lyrics in the songs of that era.   I rememb...

Book launch and book review

So hello All: I know it's been a long time since I wrote last.  I was busy with the book launch.  Had a great book launch on December 16, 2018 in Bangalore.  We had an amazing turnout of 175 people, which was also covered by media channels.  The chief guests present had great things to say about the book and so I thought all of you should share my happiness and the reviews....so here goes. Kay S has written a powerful and compelling novel that provides rich insights into the lives of Indian women: in particular, Anusha, her main character, and Anusha's mother and grandmother. Most of all, this book is a testament to the strength of Indian women, as Anusha draws on great personal courage, resilience, intelligence and determination to rise above many often devastating setbacks and challenges, to triumph and succeed in choosing her own destiny.- Kate Jeffrey, Community Planning Consultant, Melbourne, Australia. "Unfinished by Kay S is the purest depiction of a re...

Unfinished indeed!!!!

Good day to all of you, lovely people of this planet!  Hope you are having an awesome day today.  Here I am finally, an author in the making half century into my life deciding to start conversing and interacting with the world the way I always wanted to.  So here are my ramblings for today introducing my oh! so small world... Briefly, I am a very proud, independent, empowered and empowering middle class woman with a middle class upbringing, an entrepreneur having been successful in establishing and transitioning multiple businesses, and a very proud single mother of two wonderful kids.  Wondering what's so special about all this, right?  Nothing probably or just about everything :-) When I was a young girl all of around 6 years old a strange sort of drama started off in my life involving lies, deceit, exploitation, cheating, marital discord, and the works....all seeming like a movie one might have seen.  This made me a thinker I guess and I started havin...
